Collection: Shu Pu'er Tea

Our curated collection of Shu Pu'er tea. Shu pu'er is a style of tea developed in the 1970's to imitate aged sheng pu'er. It didn't quite do that, but has become its own delicious thing. It is basically the result of "composting" tea; tea from the neighboring villages are brought to a central factory, piled up in huge masses and allowed to ferment in a controlled fashion. The result is a remarkable rich, earthy tea with notes reminiscent of soil, wood, petrichor, and cream.
